Outdoor learning and animation were used to explore the culture and traditions of the first nations people of North America. Indoor and outdoor activities included making artefacts, den building, orienteering and producing an integral documentary film, which included animated sections.
The project developed pupil understanding of well-being issues, for example, how to deal with worries, recognising feelings and having empathy for others and the environment. In addition to improvements in oracy, the pupils developed their skills in digital competency, emotional intelligence and working more collaboratively.
